Ah, yes...the old there-are-so-few-trans-athletes excuse! This is a pretty lame defense; at the same time activists are scolding us for being concerned with those athletes, they are praising these same people for winning awards.
I hope I can shake your hand, Colin, when you eventually come to the Evergreen State and testify. Or perhaps, I will testify alongside you. We are also in a very sorry state of affairs (pun intended) here in Washington State when it comes to gender ideology and the reality of binary sex.
>Assemblymember Christopher Ward, a gay man, was at least more measured in his remarks. He explained his opposition by equating transgender identity with being gay. But the two are not comparable. Being gay does not infringe on others’ rights, distort scientific reality, or require ideological adherence. The statement “trans women are women” is a profession of faith, not a biological fact.
While this is correct, Colin, I'm afraid it isn't ideologically valid. Even though we gently correct the grandmothers, "No, trans is not the new gay", in fact I fear it has become so. This is going to sound hurtful to homosexual men of good faith whom I know personally or in public life but I have to conclude that trans really *is* the new gay. Almost all "transwomen" are male-attracted homosexual men. It represents the full flowering of homosexual pride for an effeminate homosexual man to actually be seen as a heterosexual woman. I don't profess to understand the psychology, but a certain type of homosexual man wants to be so effeminate that even straight men would be attracted to him. Of course no straight man is -- we all know full well that transwomen aren't women and can clock them 100 yards away, not as accurately as women, perhaps, who can do it at a quarter mile -- but this is their fantasy. (Unfortunately for them, not many homosexual men are attracted to men who look like women but that is their dating pool, no matter how shallow it is. Their need to *be* women outweighs the penalty they pay in attracting sexual partners and, incidentally, makes them settle too easily for men who enjoy abusing them as a fetish object.)
So for homosexual men in public life, it becomes perversely essential to advocate for trans rights as part of "LGBTQ rights". It's not so much that trans people have force-teamed themselves on the LGB as instead the G have subsumed trans as part of their own community. That's exactly what Assemblyman Ward is doing in California, and it's what homosexual politicians in the Liberal Party in Canada do also. Trans rights are gay rights because trans people are all gay. The misogyny of this position's impact on the rights of actual women is simply not relevant to them, any more than the rights of the host are relevant to the parasite. They're just doing their thing of advancing gay rights. They missed HIV, living openly, and same-sex marriage. The need for activists to have something to activate against never ends and trans it is for this generation of homosexuals of the progressive activist persuasion.
I think the public is starting to suss this out. Popular support for same-sex marriage and laws against discrimination against homosexuals is slipping, I think because the public correctly equates trans with homosexual over-reach in the popular mind.
These remarks don't apply to the men who present themselves as lesbian women -- I think they are just plain dissemblers -- and the AGPs. And I don't pretend to understand women who identify as men, except to note that they are nearly all lesbians. (I'm excluding the ROGD cohort. as a social contagion. It'll be gone soon, replaced with some other tic that troubled adolescent girls pick up. ) I'll leave them for others to analyze. But trans really is the new gay.
Assemblyman Ward needs to be asked why he wants to trans away the gay in kids like he was. Let’s help gay kids be happy well-adjusted gay kids not sex lobotomized lifelong patients.
I hope you’re right that the ROGD cohort will be gone soon. That was my “gateway” into this topic and still my main area of concern, and here in Canada I see no signs of that cohort shrinking.
I find your breakdown of the different cohorts a helpful reminder. When we talk about “trans” we are actually talking about multiple overlapping issues, not a single distinct phenomenon. Which is part of what makes it so confusing
Girls and women will simply have to sit down, walk away, not go at the starting gun when a male "gets set" in a female competition. The women who did this recently in disc golf and fencing have gotten largely positive reactions. Men who claim a female persona also claim to be "mothers, sisters, daughters" when they know they are not, and unfortunately, the mental health profession has been encouraging them, defaming female family members and the ex-wives. What I'm encouraged about is how strong and rational our cause is becoming. The CA Republicans made a big mistake when they neglected to bring up a question for you, Colin!
I'd argue it already has. Gavin Newsom and Catherine Cortez Masto, prominent Democrats both, have been stepping away from gender woo-woo, and they aren't the only ones.
Now, I myself don't buy that the they/them ad won Trump the election; I think most elections are decided on the fundamentals. That said, if Democrats *think* the ad was decisive, they'll respond...and they already have.
Fact is, the majority of rank-and-file Democrats, like me, don't want men in women's sports, and we accept that sex-segregated spaces are necessary and desirable. The Democratic elites are beginning to realize this, and they are responding accordingly. To steal your metaphor, they see the rising waters, and they are seeking higher ground.
How come we do not talk about women invading men’s sports and private spaces? Because these biological differences are, in fact, REAL. Anyone who denies this basic truth is, by definition, untrustworthy.

Every day is April 1st apparently
Thank you Colin for being so emphatic on the critical importance of adhering to the TRUTH.
I hope I can shake your hand, Colin, when you eventually come to the Evergreen State and testify. Or perhaps, I will testify alongside you. We are also in a very sorry state of affairs (pun intended) here in Washington State when it comes to gender ideology and the reality of binary sex.
California--no longer the Golden State for women and girls. There's plenty of gold for men and men in dresses, though.
I thought I saw you in the hearing room (when I watched the video) and wondered why you didn't speak.
I was all ready to go with facts but the Republicans never asked any biology questions!

22nd generation queer? Did s/he really just trans all his ancestors?

Colin this is tragic if predictable. Your efforts have been stellar. Let’s focus on hitting insurance companies in the pocket. The tide will turn.
