There are strange benefits to being old and curious and skeptical very horny over a lifetime.
I had a brief affair (like Sheldon Cooper I have an eidetic memory, but only for sexual encounters) in the 80’s with a colleague of Dr Money who lectured at Caltech, where I was an undergraduate (like Sheldon Cooper). One of those things which would be frowned upon today. I got a detailed briefing on the “experiment”. I think at the time I was fascinated but nauseated, and suspicious. I knew my view of gender changed drastically at around age 12.
Turns out Reimer violently rejected Money and the “experiment” roughly at the time I heard of it so the lie was falling apart, but nobody was the wiser yet. It went into my stupendous mental index of curiosities.
Roughly 15 years later my memory of the “experiment” was re-activated when I read the actual story of Reimer, a magazine article and a review of the book (2000 “As Nature Made Him NYT bestseller). David Reimer committed suicide several years later.
“Money's writing has been translated into many languages and includes around 2,000 articles, books, chapters and reviews. He received around 65 honours, awards and degrees in his lifetime.”
Each and every one of these articles, books, chapters and reviews needs to be repudiated, retracted, and corrected in the records of psychiatry and sexology.
Money drove John’s Hopkins to deploy a pediatric sex change unit (a subset of their general sex change capability) which resulted in untold numbers of children to be mutilated and deprived of any aspect of childhood normalcy. John’s Hopkins ceased all sex change surgery in 1979 and has never resumed for a variety of reasons including the fact that Swedish studies found that transsexual surgery never improved psychiatric outcomes. Sound familiar? For intersex children the situation is monstrous.
Every time you read of “standard of care” in transsexualism, particularly for “child transsexuals”, it is derived from a lie, false research outcomes, and has penetrated health and psychiatric care at all levels for decades.

Hey, I've also spent a lifetime being "skeptical very horny" LOL why live any other way?! I bet 20/30 yrs ago we coulda got into some trouble together!
I hate to impose, but you sound like an intelligent and well-informed person, but I've been thinking over a question and it's impossible to get anyone IRL to be remotely Socratic about this topic, as electric fences have been installed in their brains that shock them when they venturely too closely to an unapproved thought.
So here goes, and feel free to ignore, but I'd be curious to get an informed opinion here:
Is there such a thing as a Trans child? Is it your classic social construct? Would/could there be such a thing in someone too young to have any type of sexual (and adult) knowledge/experience? Is the "Trans child" a political creation? Could there be such a thing in a less neurotic more "in touch with the natural world" type of society?
There are a class of syndromes where the cerebral cortex does not maintian an internal well-integrated image/model of the body as a whole (subconsciously). This manifests itself as an unrelenting drive to correct the visible body to match the internal form. It usually erupts before puberty and can.have complex expression. Anorexia is an example, self-perceiving as fat, or.the compliment "bigorexoa" (I have it ) where no matter how objectively large I become.with muscles, I feel small (250lbs, 5'8", 32" waiat, 21" arms - my arms wwl like pipe cleaners, I have shape shifting hallucinations.)
One.group, usually men, want a hand to be removed "to feel.wholel"., Or a leg. When the body identity disorder hits the genitals, then there is a strong mismatch between there internal model and the outward form.
A common treatment is surgery - remove the healthy leg to feel whole, remove the penis, etx. - Body identity dysmorphia disorder.
Certainly children can have this. It does first manifest in childhood; as in “I shouldn’t have a penis” or “vagina”, or Perhaps a foot, and over time seek medical removal to feel whiole.
Imagine living every day and when you see your foot or a breast; you have the overwhelming almost Life-threatening sickening feeling something is wrong.
This is a defect of brain development where
The internal model is never fully met up with the external reality, and created unceasing discomforts.
So, I’m certain that transsexuality as manifest as discomfort with the genitals one was born with is real; has embodiment in neural substrates related to self-perceptions, and cannot be altereedcs, only managed.
Transsexual stories generally speak of recognition after puberty, when fully formed sex organs are evident, and libido stars to drive social usage.
Pre-pubertal recognition would be numerically rare, 1:1,000,000 to 1:10,000,000.,000; the most common
